Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Sharla Blanz, our newest Montclair Scholarship Fund Trustee. Sharla brings to the MSF board a wealth of fundraising experience, along with a lifelong commitment to helping children in need. Sharla began her volunteer work mentoring young students in Atlanta through the Techwood Tutorial Program at Georgia Tech, where she assisted underprivileged children in mastering academic basics and in instilling enthusiasm towards lifelong learning. Since moving to Montclair, NJ over seventeen-years ago, Sharla has been an active and engaged volunteer in the community. She became a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children in Essex County, and has also been involved in their fundraising efforts. Sharla has also raised funds for a whole host of local organizations, including Bradford Elementary School PTA, Buzz Aldrin Middle School, Van Vleck House & Gardens, and Play for PINK Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Prior to joining the MSF Board of Trustees, Sharla co-chaired, in 2018, the first ever MSF "Mardi Gras Montclair" fundraiser. Sharla and her husband, Bob, currently have two sons at Montclair High School, in addition to two college graduates. Welcome, Sharla!
