Welcome to Melissa Moore
Melissa Moore is a freelance writer and editor with a background in public health policy. Melissa worked as a Program Officer for the Alan Guttmacher Institute and as Director of Research for the Media Project of the Henry J Kaiser Family Foundation. She has also been an adjunct member of the faculty in the Politics Department at New York University. Melissa took time off after her children were born and returned to doing editorial work on a freelance basis ten years ago. She primarily develops book proposals and works as a ghostwriter for nonfiction books about topics that have ranged from health, finance, happiness, fitness, entertainment, food, and celebrity memoir.
Melissa has lived in Montclair since 2003 and has two children who attended Montclair public schools. Her local volunteer work has included service to IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County), Literacy Volunteers of America for Essex and Passaic Counties, the PTAs of Watchung School and (then) Mt Hebron Middle School, and as a board member and chair of Union Congregational Weekday Nursery School, and a member of the leadership council of Union Congregational Church.
