MSF Application Info

How do I apply?

During the online application period (February 3 - March 7), go to the Montclair High School website Scholarships page. The page includes a link to the MSF online application and instructions for completion and submission.

When can I apply? Can I apply after the deadline?

The application is available online in February and March (open and close dates will be announced by MHS), and you may apply anytime until the deadline. Once the deadline has passed, the application is closed.

Do I need to apply for a particular scholarship?

No. Complete the common MSF online application and you will be considered for scholarships that match your interests, aptitudes, traits and high school record.

Do I need to complete and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit my FAFSA / Student Aid Report (SAR) to MSF to be eligible for a scholarship?

Yes. Learn more about the FAFSA / SAR.

Is there a fee to apply for a MSF scholarship?

No fee is required.

Does MSF accept paper applications?

No. Applicants must submit scholarship applications using the online application (see above). Computers are available in the Montclair High School Resource Center and the Montclair Public Library (with library card).

When and how do I deliver my FAFSA/SAR report to MSF?

After you submit your MSF online application, enclose copies of your FAFSA/SAR report in a sealed envelope. Clearly label the sealed envelope “Montclair Scholarship Fund” and deposit it in the Montclair Scholarship Fund mailbox in the main office of the high school. Separately, the Guidance Department will provide your transcript and guidance recommendation to MSF.

When is my interview and what do I bring to it?

Not all applicants will be interviewed. If you are selected to be considered for a scholarship, MHS Guidance Department will schedule your May interview with the MSF Scholarship Committee. Each interview lasts 10-15 minutes. REQUIRED: Bring a copy of your accepted college’s Financial Aid Award letter to the interview.
