Shruti and Prem Ramaswami opened their home on a rainy April day for a festive celebration of the Montclair Scholarship Fund, underscoring our town’s ongoing commitment to the support of Montclair High School students as they pursue higher education. Donors, trustees, supporters, students, community members, and Montclair’s Superintendent Dr. Ruth B. Turner gathered, not only to connect, but to reaffirm a shared belief: that every student deserves the opportunity to continue his or her education beyond high school. The strong turnout reflected a community-wide dedication to expanding access and removing financial barriers for Montclair’s graduates.
Attendees enjoyed fusion tacos from Tacowala, creative cocktails crafted by Velour Mixology, and a powerful presentation featuring the voices of past MSF scholarship recipients—students whose educational journeys were made possible through community support. The superintendent was moved to share her own experience as a first-generation college student, reinforcing the transformative impact of educational opportunity.
Proceeds from the event will directly advance MSF’s mission, ensuring that more Montclair High School students can take the next step in their academic and vocational journeys, knowing that Montclair’s commitment to their future is strong and will continue to grow. The organization is currently evaluating this year's applications for scholarships.
